Cleveland Browns safety Rodney McLeod Jr. says the 2024 season, which will be his 13th in the NFL, will be the final one of his career.
"This is the last lap for me," McLeod said Monday during an appearance on NFL Network's "NFL Total Access."
McLeod, who turn 34 in June, signed a one-year deal this offseason to return to Cleveland for a second season.
McLeod originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia in 2012. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Rams and then played the next six with the Eagles, who won Super Bowl LII in the 2017 season. McLeod spent the 2022 season with the Colts before signing a one-year deal to join Cleveland, where he started five games before sustaining a season-ending biceps injury in Week 11.
"[I] just felt as though last year was left incomplete," McLeod said. "I wanted a complete year. I pride myself on availability and being durable. And so, for me this year, it's finishing unfinished business, I would say."
McLeod has appeared in 166 games and made 143 starts in his career. In 2022, he was awarded the Alan Page Community Award by the NFL Players Association for his philanthropic work in Philadelphia.
